Bruce Ingraham founded Ingraham Consulting in 1998 in order to help his clients make sound investments in information technology, and develop effective policies and procedures to support the investments. His recent engagements have involved the application of IT and statistics to the development of marketing plans and sales support. Prior to founding his management consulting practice, he was an IT consultant for ten years, developing data processing and data analysis systems for Roche Biosciences (formerly Syntex), Kaiser Permanente, and Wells Fargo Bank. Mr. Ingraham's career began at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, where he was a graduate student research assistant in the combustion fluid mechanics group. He worked briefly for the Del Monte Corporate Research Center and Badger Meter Electronics Division as a systems programmer before joining Pacific Bell as a capacity planner for mainframe computer systems. Mr. Ingraham has Bachelor's and Master's degrees in mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley, where he wrote his thesis under the direction of Rainer Sachs on tensors. He undertook additional graduate work at the University of California at Davis, where he studied differential geometry with Motohico Mulase. Mr. Ingraham also served as a teaching assistant in mathematics, and has taught introductory statistics for the MBA program at San Francisco State University. Bruce
was born and raised in Maine, where he delivered the
newspaper to the mother and brother of Leon Gorman,
president of L. L. Bean. He graduated from Yarmouth High
School, and earned a certificate in culinary arts from
Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. He attended
the University of Arizona before enrolling at UC Berkeley.
He has also studied photography at Chabot College with Gier
and Kate Jordahl, and painting with M. Louise Stanley at her
atelier. He is a docent at the San Francisco Museum of
Modern Art. |
